Good horror films from the last couple of years
Going on holiday in August and want to download (legally) a decent horror film.

My son has suggested The Conjuring and Sinister.

Can any of the WHO film buffs recommend any others - not interested in gore / slashing genres.

Many thanks

Very good Athletico - was going to state in my original post something about the Allardyce years but he's the past. We have a rosy future ahead - I hope!

I always like it when you watch horror at the midnight screening in the west end and everyone is pissed and falling about the isles laughing and screaming. Very, very enjoyable.

jammy, I love Audition but he did say no gore and it does get a bit naughty during the second half of the film. that other film I mentioned is a rare horror that doesn't need any shock scenes to scare you

Sinister is pretty tough, in some scenes even sickening, unbearable to watch, but of course I don't know what kind of stuff the OP is used to.

The Conjuring in my view is quite brilliant in how it puts together basically every horror cliche, but does so in a very clever, frightening way.
I would highly recommend The Conjuring.

It follows is the best horror film of last few years.

But I honestly find David Lynch's stuff more horrifying than any corny slasher flick.

It Follows is a new one and good in a freaky sort of way. very 70s homage.

Not strictly a horror film and not a recent film but I strongly recommend 10 Rillington Place, which is a true story which led to the UK abolishing the death penalty
